Wizards!!
Double Reed Consort
Featuring: The Golum (1920) - A film by Michael Koenig, based upon a medieval Jewish legend. A clay figure is brought to life to protect the Jews who live in the Prague ghetto in the year 1580. This story had a profound influence on writer Mary Shelley, and is considered to be the precursor to Frankenstein.
This classic silent film will be accompanied by The Golum, a score for Wizards composed by Phillip Freihofner.

The Stuart-Ivanov Duo
Violin and Piano Duo
Featuring: Fate of the Artist - A Multimedia event, including footage from Jean Cocteau's 1930 film "Blood of a Poet", and the music of repressed Soviet composer Nikolai Roslavets. Under Stalin's rule, Roslavets' music was banned, and much of it was destroyed or lost until recently. This performance will also include footage from Soviet Russia, Soviet animation and archival recordings of repressed poets Anna Akhmatova, Marina Tsvetaeva, and Osip Mandelstam reading their works.

Featured Ensembles: Quorum Chamber Arts Collective,
Sole Nero and Balance
A musical kaleidoscope featuring the works of Evan Chambers and Dave Hollinden. Bold and celebratory, reflective and sweet, this new music with traditional roots will be embellished by the Balance duo's treatment of Irish fiddling favorites, and a world premiere performance of Marcus Karl Maroney's Denk dir for solo soprano saxophone.

Join Quorum for a "sonic card game" in which the performers have to bluff, ante and bet their way through the world premiere performance of Roshanne Etezady's "Hold 'em." The world premiere of As Biddeth Thy Tongue by Kati Agocs will also be featured, along with the music of Joan Tower and Chick Corea.
